Announcement from the Synodal Liturgical Music Committee of the Russian Church Abroad

The Liturgical Music Commission of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad made a recommendation concerning the annual North American music conference. 

Taking into consideration the overall high cost of living and the current financial crisis in the USA on the one hand, and the desirability of strengthening the activity of the local diocesan music committees on the other hand, the Liturgical Music Commission decided: 

    1. To cancel the 2009 North American Liturigcal Music Conference.
    2. The next North American Liturgical Music Conference will be held in the fall of 2010.
    3. Suggest to the diocesan music committees to hold local conferences in each diocese on dates convenient to them, and to report the results to the Liturgical Music Commission.
