His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Consecrates the Blagovest Bell for the Church-on-the-Blood
On April 18, 2010, following Divine Liturgy in the newly-consecrated lower church of the Memorial Church-on-the-Blood of All Russian Saints, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia blessed the main “blagovest” bell for the church, which bears a depiction of the Royal Passion-Bearers.
His Holiness then blessed a memorial plaque with an inscription describing the great consecration of the lower church dedicated to the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia.
Funds for this bell were collected from the believers of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus of blessed memory in 2004.
The bell was made by the Ural Metallurgical Company in the city of Kamensk-Uralsky. The inscription on the bell bears witness to the fact that it is a gift to the Memorial Church-on-the-Blood of All Russian Saints from His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus and the fullness of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
