The Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in New York Launches Its Website

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the official website of the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign has been launched.

The website offers news covering the Cathedral itself and general Church news, and also sections titled "The Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God," "The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign," "St Sergius Church," "Multimedia," ""A must to read," "Wish list" "Service Schedule," and "Useful links" for the Orthodox Christians of New York.

Visitors to the site are offered a virtual tour of the Cathedral and biographies of its Rectors, eminent hierarchs of the Russian Diaspora, other important figures whose lives and service are tied to the Synodal Cathedral, and its Sisterhood.

The site includes a section on the Synodal Youth Department, whose President is Metropolitan Hilarion and whose Vice President is the Cathedral's Senior Priest, Protopriest Andrei Sommer.

The site was the result of an initiative by and through the efforts of the Cathedral Warden, Prince Vladimir Kirillovich Galitzine. Part of the website is still under development. There are both Russian- and English-language versions: www.nycathedralofsign.org
