On Tuesday, April 2, 2013, the clergymen and flock of the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, headed by His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, and His Grace Vicar Bishop Theodosius of Seattle, solemnly and ceremoniously greeted the main holy icon of the Russian diaspora, the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign,” brought by its caretaker, Priest Nicholas Olhovsky. After serving a moleben to the Most-Pure Mother of God, the gathered worshipers prayed at a pannikhida for Metropolitan Laurus (Shkurla) (on the fifth anniversary of his death) and Archbishop Tikhon (Troitsky) (on the fiftieth anniversary of his repose). A report on the visit of the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God is available on the official website of the diocese: wadiocese.com.
