On Monday, April 21, 2014, the second day of Holy Pascha of Christ, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, making an archpastoral visit to the parishes of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, which is also entrusted to his care, officiated at Divine Liturgy at the Archbishop's Church in Croydon (Sydney), NSW. He was joined by a multitude of clergymen of the region and many worshipers. At the end of the service, a Paschal procession was led around the church, after which His Eminence addressed the believers with a sermon during which he noted that the greatest and truest joy for every Christian is the news of the Resurrection of Christ. His Eminence then hosted his traditional Paschal reception, at which everyone received a kind word and a gift. The clergymen and laity shared their Paschal joy with their beloved archpastor. Metropolitan Hilarion will remain in Australia until May 26, after which he will return to New York. From the website of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand.
