Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York Celebrates Divine Liturgy on His Namesday
On Monday, November 3, 2014, the feast day of St Hilarion, Schema-monk of the Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, officiated at Divine Liturgy on his namesday. He was joined by His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, and a host of clergymen from Local Orthodox Churches, the cathedral clergy, clerical members of the Synodal Administration and from various dioceses. Also praying during the service was His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA. After Liturgy, Vladyka Nicholas congratulated His Eminence and gave him an icon of Christ Not-Made-By-Hands, a gift from the Eastern American Diocese. Vladyka Hilarion expressed his profound gratitude to all the participants of the celebration and for the joy they shared with him for the memory of his heavenly protector. The cathedral’s sisterhood then hosted a reception for all the participants.
