The Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe offers information on the military conflict in Ukraine
As the dreadful war in Ukraine continues, the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe continues its extensive efforts to aid those suffering from the conflict, whether in Ukraine itself or in the many countries of our Diocese to which Ukrainian refugees have fled and continue to flee.
The extensive relief and aid activities outlined in the previous report — including financial aid, assistance with legal, housing, schooling and other practical matters, etc —continue, and to these have been added the recent and ongoing reception of numerous Ukrainian clergy into the territory of the Diocese, both to serve in clerical functions within existing diocesan parishes, as well as to create new Ukrainian-specific missions and parishes in regions where this is appropriate.
Above all, the Diocese continues to foster its chief work of aid to the terrible situation: prayer for the cessation of bloodshed and the restoration of peace in Ukraine. Petitions and special prayers for these causes continue to be offered in all churches of the Diocese at all Divine Services. Additionally, as from the outset, all Orthodox faithful of the Diocese are charged to pray also in their homes, with their families, for these ends — and special prayers have been provided by the Diocesan Administration for such home use.
Those interested may read the Diocese’s previous updates on these matters, which outline additional, far-reaching activities:
