The Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” will celebrate the namesday of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad

On Sunday, February 16, 2025, the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and the feast day of St Nicholas, Archbishop of Japan, Equal-to-the-Apostles, the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” at the in New York City will celebrate the namesday of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. The celebrations will be held under the aegis of the Myrrh-streaming "Hawaiian Iveron" Icon of the Mother of God.

On this day, His Eminence will lead the Divine Liturgy and a moleben to the Mother of God and St Nicholas. His Eminence will be joined by archpastors, representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches, cathedral clergy, clergy of the Eastern American and other dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and visiting clergy.

The meeting of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas will take place at 9:30 am. At the end of the service, all participants in the service will be offered a festive meal.
